Arrow Auto Sales Anderson, IN

About a year ago I bought my 74 CB750 from Arrow Automotive. The father and son team who run the place are a couple of characters, the elder a salty, tattooed USMC vet, the younger a local Elvis impersonator. They usually have the normal selection of used cars and trucks with a few oldies thrown into the mix. But right now they are overflowing with primo classic GM muscle cars, WOW!

My girl really digs the blue Malibu and the gold Skylark. She is determined to buy one of them.

I am amazed to see so many cherry originals. It's like seeing all of my high school automotive crushes still young and vivacious in one place as if no time had passed.

For a point of reference, this lot is across the alley from the garage where my dad and his buddies ran their race team in 80s and right around the corner from Anderson Speedway (aka Sun Valley Speedway), where Thundercars was filmed.

$50 Bucks???

I gotta be nuts to buy parts and pieces for another project. I swore I'd never do it again. But I just cant pass up "a good deal".

My homie Jeremiah picked this up for me. The deal was for $100. He kept a very desirable 21" Chinese tire on an alloy wheel with a drum brake, less guts, and a 16" Goodyear tire on an HD wheel.

The frame is (was) a Paughco Ground Pounder frame, or at least that's what the hillbilly who sold it to him said.

The center post, backbone and neck are gone. That said, I'm hoping to get it massaged into a stockish frame someday. We'll see...

I'm back

"The best layed plans of mice and men...", no truer words were ever spoken.

I have a bad habit of putting too many irons in the fire. Sometimes it works out, sometimes not so much. At the end of March I quit my job and took the time before stating my new job to work on the our new house. Everything took twice as long as anticipated. My last employer took forever to get my severence pay to me. So my bills got behind. Then there was the move and unpack phase that is just now ending.

At any rate, my internet is fully functioning after fighting technical gremlins for a couple weeks. The garage is mostly unpacked and set up with my bikes resting comfortably in their new home. There is even room for my 50s Gibson beer fridge and tiki furniture too.

The house looks great and we are all very comfortable here. It feels like a home. I love it.

So, now it's on to getting caught up on non-house related projects. #1 on my list is getting the Honda back on the road in cafe racer livery in time for The Rockers Reunion. Stay tuned.

p.s. It sure would be nice to have my Fulmer helmet back (hint, hint Nate).

About Me

My photo
An unfocused dilettante. I'm not half bad. Overall a very good yegg and a wrong guy in an increasingly right world.
