In a previous post I showed you how to reline a vintage helmet using my $5 swap meet find Arthur Fulmer AF50 helmet. Nate Spainhower offered me a gratis custom paint job. He asked me what I wanted. I replied, "Oh, you know some kind of pop/psyche deal, but nothing too gay either". All I can say is that I was in no way prepared for the groovy results. WOW.
There is a lot of detail that pictures dont do justice, like the mid coat rainbow sparkle applied over the black. I ran into an Icon (crotch rocket inspired clothing line) rep at the biker night down the street. She said, "Come see me when you want a real helmet". HA! Don't mind if I don't. My new lid RULES!

Swap Meet Swami
It's true, I have amazingly great luck at swap meets. I really like going to car swaps to look for bike parts. The Hoosier Auto Swap back in May was a goldmine. I hate to gloat, but I got all this stuff for about $50.
Arthur Fulmer AF30 helmet
Bicycle seat
Pair of chrome exhaust cones
50s Chevy truck tail light
Original Lucas tail light
Unused 2001 Sportster tank
36 Ford spare tire ring

Rocker's Reunion
Summer has been busy so far. Since Sarah got her bike we pretty much have agreed to put the last bit of home renovations on hold. I've also been slack off on blogging. Here is the first of a few "make up" posts.
The third weekend of May The Indy Ton-Up club put on the Rocker's Reunion show. Sarah, Nate Spainhower and I manned (or ladied if you will) the Greasy Kulture booth. Sales were a little light, but it was more of a cafe bike show rather than one for choppers. No matter, a good time was had by all. Moreover, the show brought out some really kickass local bikes.

All I ever wanted to be.
Lately this type of stuff is all I want to listen to:
I love old punk, garage, glam, western swing, honky tonk and rockabilly. But there is nothing that can touch the soaring sentimental glory of 60s country giants like Ray Price and his contemporaries. If there has ever been one thing that I aspire to it is to be half the singer of any those cats. They are simply the apex of raw, emotional power and singing perfection to me.

RIP Lattie Moore
Lattie Moore passed away on June 13th. He was an Indianapolis Rockabilly pioneer and wrote hit songs for George Jones (Out Of Control) and Red Sovine (Juke Joint Johnny). Here are a couple of my favorites:
I wish I could have seen him play one time. My old next door neighbor used to go see him in Fountain Square (bottom pic is at The Fountain Tavern, directly across the street from the Linkert Factory) when she was a teenager. She still had the hots for him 50 years later!
Another great one gone...
